Harem pants are not the Evil

I cosiddetti "harem pants" sono pantaloni lunghi caratterizzati da un taglio particolare, più stretto intorno alle caviglie e al polpaccio, morbido e voluminoso nella parte superiore e dal cavallo estremamente basso, con un effetto finale a metà strada tra una gonna e dei normali pantaloni.

Come si intuisce dal nome, questi pantaloni sono originari dell'Asia Sud-Occidentale: conosciuti con il nome di "salvars" , costituiscono da secoli uno degli indumenti tradizionali più diffusi e utilizzati sia dagli uomini che dalle donne.

Introdotti nella cultura occidentale intorno al 1850, questi pantaloni venivano indossati dalle donne più progressiste dell'epoca sotto gli abiti durante lo svolgimento delle attività più fisiche e sportive (cd. "bloomers")

Gli harem pants rimasero relegati al settore dell'abbigliamento sportivo femminile fino alla fine degli anni 80, quando furono portati alla ribalta dal rapper americano MC Hammer, che li rese il capo culto simbolo del decennio. A partire dall'Autunno-Inverno 2009, gli harem pants hanno fatto il loro ritorno sulle passerelle. Rielaborati nella forma, nei tessuti e nei colori, slanciati da tacchi vertiginosi ed abbinati agli scolpitissimi e geometrici blazer di Balmain, le cui spalline esagerate sono diventate il simbolo della stagione, gli harem pants sono stati trasformati in un capo chic ed elegante, sexy e femminile. Per la loro particolarità gli harem pants hanno diviso fashioniste e operatori della moda, collezionando, accanto ad entusiasti fans, spietati detrattori che li considerano morificanti per la figura e poco femminili. Personalmente trovo che questi pantaloni siano un ottimo compromesso tra comodità ed eleganza e che nelle ultime versioni, che sfruttano stoffe a fantasia e ultra leggere, possano dare consistenza anche agli outfit più semplici, come quello della ragazza che vedete ritratta in queste foto. As the name implies, these pants are from South-West Asia: known as the "salvars", they have been for centuries one of the most popular traditional clothes and they were used by both men and women. Introduced into Western culture in the middle of XIXth Century, these pants were worn by most progressive women under clothes during sports and physical activities and they were known as "the bloomers". The harem pants have been relegated to women's sportswear until the late 80's, when they were brought into the mainstream by the American rapper MC Hammer, who made them a symbol of the decade. In autumn 2009, harem pants have come back. With brand new shapes, fabrics and colors, matched with high heeled shoes, and combined with the geometric Balmain blazers, the harem pants were turned into a chic and elegant, sexy and feminine must have . Harem pants divided fashionistas and fashion editors: some of them are huge fans of this kind of trousers, others are horrified by them. In my opinion these pants are a good compromise between confort and elegance and the last version, made up of patterned and extra light fabrics, can defenetely make an outfit, as you can see in the pictures of this post. The Panama Hat

Il cosiddetto "Panama" è un tradizionale cappello a tesa rigida di origine ecuadoriana: ricavato dall'artigianale intreccio delle foglie di una pianta locale (toquilla), prende il nome non dal Paese d'origine ma dal luogo in cui i cappelli erano, già nel tardo XIX° secolo, smistate per le varie destinazioni, Asia, America e Europa.

Il modello fu reso celebre dal Presidente americano Theodore Roosevelt che lo indossò durante una visita proprio al canale di Panama. Il tempo passa, ma il Panama resta.

Eccolo qui in una versione attualissima, abbinato a skinny jeans e ad una delle tante versioni dei sandali con lacci, spuntati un po' dappertutto negli ultimi mesi e che avete già visto su Fashion Trotter qui e qui.

The Panama hat is a traditional brimmed hat of Ecuadorian origin: made up of leaves of a local plant (toquilla), the hat takes its name not from the country of origin but from the place where the hats were sorted for different destinations, like as Asia, America and Europe. The model was made famous by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt wore it during his visit to the Panama Canal. Time goes by, but Panama holds on. The old school bag

La borsa che vedete in queste foto, detta "a cartella" per l'evidente richiamo alle cartelle in cuoio usate dai bambini negli anni 50 - 60 per andare a scuola, ha spopolato in questa estate 2010.

Già popolare tra i patiti del vintage, è stata declinata in due varianti dalla lungimirante maison inglese Mulberry, la più classica Bayswater e la celebre Alexa (ispirata all'omonima presentatrice e fashion icon inglese), che hanno conquistato fashioniste, socialite e addetti ai lavori.

La versione che vedete in queste foto è una rivisitazione molto pulita e moderna della classica cartella, addolcita dal tono cipriato della pelle e dalla linea femminile.

Appena l'ho vista me ne sono innamorata.

Sfortunatamente la sua proprietaria non parlava una parola di inglese e a gesti sono stata a malapena in grado di chiederle se potevo scattarle una foto.

Qualcuno di voi sa di chi potrebbe essere questa meraviglia?

The color flash of the top was insane and the match with the heavy tricot pull is perfect.

Her name was Laura Cecilia and, guess what?She's a fashion blogger too!

Tornata da Berlino stanca morta e con le tonsille gonfissime.

Berliner mood

Berlin is amazing. The city is awesome and the people insanely cool. I let you admire an example of Berliner style here under: actually this is an Italian girl I met in Milan at the beginning of July but she resumes perfectly the Berlin's mood: extremely cool, a little bit of underground culture, lot of bleached jeans, lot of black but tons of vivid colors too.
