Berliner mood

Berlin is amazing. The city is awesome and the people insanely cool. I let you admire an example of Berliner style here under: actually this is an Italian girl I met in Milan at the beginning of July but she resumes perfectly the Berlin's mood: extremely cool, a little bit of underground culture, lot of bleached jeans, lot of black but tons of vivid colors too. Vi lascio con un esempio dello stile berlinese: in realtà la ragazza che é ritratta in questo post é italiana, l'ho incontrata in uno dei miei innumerevoli tour a Milano agli inizi di luglio. Il suo stile però riassume alla perfezione quelli che sono i tratti salienti del mood berlinese: tanto nero, un tocco di cultura underground e fantasie quasi psichedeliche dai colori vivaci. Take My Breath Away

Here another classic of the sunglasses galaxy: the Aviator.

The classic Aviator model was in born in 1936 and legend claims that the need arose for aviator-style sunglasses because military pilots found that sun and glare protection would be helpful to aid them during day missions.

The popularity of the glasses sky-rocketed as many celebrities began wearing the style of sunglasses. The style has been popular since the 1960s, but became even more so in the 1980s following pop culture references concerning Michael Jackson and use by celebrities in films like Top Gun, where Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise sported them.

I had my mirror Aviator period too, even if now I'm tourning to more feminine shapes, diva-like style.

But I have to admit that everytime I cross someone with a pair of them in the street I find myself thinking "She/he's soo cool!".

Ecco un altro grande classico: gli occhiali da sole a specchio con l'inconfondibile forma a goccia del celebre modello Aviator di Ray Ban.

Il primo paio di Aviator fu fabbricato nel 1936. La leggenda vuole che siano stati concepiti su richiesta dei giovani militari dell'areonautica americana per poter evitare il fastidio causato dal sole negli occhi durante le missioni diurne.

Il modello é poi diventato uno dei modelli simbolo della cultura pop americana grazie a Michael Jackson che lo ha utilizzato in diversi clip e apparizioni pubbliche.

Sempre negli anni '80, precisamente nel 1986, con l'uscita di Top Gun, con il sexy grugno di Val Kilmer e l'irresistibile sorriso di Tom Cruise gli Aviator sono passati alla storia.

Anch'io, come tutti, ho avuto il mio periodo Aviator, anche se negli ultimi anni tendo a scegliere forme più femminili.

Tuttavia, ogni volta che incrocio per la strada qualcuno che ne indossa un paio, non posso fare a meno di pensare "Che stile!".

Lace-up sandals

Here another great example of lace-up sandals.

Already seen here, this time they're THE lace-up boots from Ann Demeulmeester.

She launched the very first open lace-up sandals in her SS 2009 collection, and they istantely sold out.

They're defenetely weird, and a lot of people don't like them at all, but I think this is an interesting model that can make an outfit.

P.S. Look at the fluo green nailpolish!Isn't that amazing??!

Ne avevate già visto un paio qui, ma questa volta sono I sandali allacciati originali di Ann Demeulmeester.

Lanciati dalla stilista con la collezione PE 2009, sono immediatamente andati esauriti in pochi giorni.

Ammetto che é un modello decisamente bizzarro, e a molti non piaceranno affatto, ma personalmente li trovo molto interessanti.

A cosa servono le amiche?

A milioni di cose.

Ridere a crepapelle, chiachierare fitto fitto nel cuore della notte, abbracci consolatori, ballare come pazze a piedi nudi in cucina, cantare a perdifiato completamente ubriache. E, ovviamente, lo shopping.

Mentre voi starete leggendo questo post, io sarò in procinto di volare a Parigi con una delle mie migliori amiche /ex-conquilina per un week-end di macarons, pains au chocolat, crepes allo zucchero, mercato delle pulci, negozietti vintage e... saldi!

E domani saremo raggiunte da un'altra ex-conqui/best friend nel pomeriggio!

Tons of things.

Laughing 'till death, midnight chitchatting, encouraging hugs, insane barefoot dancing in the kictchen, singing loud completely wasted. And shopping, of course.

While you'll be reading this post I'll be flying to Paris with one of my best friend / ex-flatmate for a week end full of pains au chocolat, macarons, crepes au sucre, marché aux puces, vintage shops and .....sales! And another one of us is going to reach us on Friday afternoon.

Headscarf

After ankle lenght skirts, headscarfves are another HUGE must of the Summer 2010.

We've seen great examples on The Sartorialist, Hanneli, Garance, and on hundreds of outfit blogs.

I love how this pretty girl made the headscarf look like a pair of lovely, brown bunny ears.

This add an ironic touch to the total black extra dramatic outfit.

Mi ha molto colpito come questa ragazza sia riuscita a sistemare il foulard dandogli l'effetto di un paio di adorabili orecchiette da coniglio!

Blue eyes don't lie

When I was a child I desperately desired having blue eyes.

Now that I'm a grown up, I learnt to accept my light brown eyes but I'm still convinced that a pair of blue eyes is the best accessory to every outfit.

Look at this girl:isn't she pretty? Without her blue eyes the gorgeus ankle lenght striped dress wouldn't be the same.

Sin da bambina, ho sempre voluto avere gli occhi azzurri.

Ora che sono cresciuta ho imparato ad accettare i miei occhi nocciola, ma rimango ancora convinta del fatto che un bel paio di occhi azzurri siano l'accessorio che rende speciale ogni outfit.

Le treccie morbide laterali sono e saranno un grande must della stagione estiva. 5 minuti dopo la sfilata AI 2010 di Alexander Wang, dove il geniale hair stylist Guido Palau ha reintrodotto l'acconciatura, tutti, insiders, fashion victims, professionisti del settore, sfoggiavano eleganti treccie appoggiate morbidamente sulla spalla.

Personalmente é un trend che mi piace molto. La trovo un'acconciatura semplice ma ricercata che aggiunge un tocco in più anche al più semplice degli outfit.

Come quello della graziosa ragazza di questo post: una leggera camicetta a fantasia liberty, skinny tendenti al grigio cenere e booties in pelle nera, un po' rock, che correggono alla perfezione l'insieme evitando l'effetto "scolaretta" .

Side braids are and will be one of the trend for hairstyle this summer. 5 minutes after the SS 2010 Alexander Wang's fashion show, where the hair stylist Guido Palau reintroduced the braided hairstyle, everyone, models, fashion victims, insiders, was exhibiting a soft side braid on their shoulder.

In my opinion, this is a pretty hairstyle, versatile but elegant. It adds a smart touch to an everyday outfit.

Like the one of this girl.

The outfit is pretty simple, made up of a Liberty pattern shirt, grey skinny jeans and black rock booties, but the braid adds the je-ne-sais-quoi that makes the look special.

I promise, this is not another post on redheads.

Let's talk about long skirts.

This season they're back, everyone in the blogosphere is wearing a maxi dress or a maxi skirt.

The one of this girl is perfect to me.

Perfect lenght, a little bit pleated nut not toon much, vintage but extremely contemporary.

She matched it pretty simple with a white cotton top and a pair of black gladiators + vintage Wayfarers.

Prometto che questo non sarà un altro post sulle rosse.

Oggi parliamo di maxi gonne.

Questa stagione sono prepotentemente tornate alla ribalta, ogni blogger che si rispetti ne ha almeno una nell'armadio.

Quella della ragazza nella foto é perfetta: perfetta la lunghezza, perfetta la forma, perfetto il colore ed il tessuto. Vintage ma estremamente contemporanea.

Lei l'ha abbinata con un semplicissimo top in cotone bianco ed un paio di gladiators in pelle nera + un paio di Rayban Wayfarer vintage.

Jumpsuite, symbol of the Golden 80's, came back the last seasons and instantly became a masterpiece in everygirl's wordrobe.

The one of the girl above is particularly interesting.

The delicate colour perfectly matches the dramatic batwing shape.

La tuta, capo cult dei dorati anni '80, é tornata prepontentemente en mode nelle ultime stagioni.

I nomi più autorevoli delle passerelle l'hanno riproposta in diverse varianti.

Quella indossata da questa ragazza é particolarmente interessante.

Il delicato color tortora del tussuto contrasta con la forma drammatica caratterizzata da ampie maniche a pipistrello che si chiudono a formare una mantella.

As seen here and here, I'm deeply in love with this glasses shape, called "cat eye".

After the fabulous Audrey wore them in Breakfast at Tiffany they've become one of the most famous glasses shape ever.

Recently Linda Farrow re-edited them with a futuristic touch for Alexander Wang AW collection and many celebreties (as the gorgeus Taylor Tomasi and Gala of Am-lul's Closet) have been seen at fashion shows wearing them.

And what about you? Cat eye yay or nay?
